The study investigate information and communication technology, and efficiency in banking industry using Guarantee Trust Bank as case study. It specifically examine the impact of ICT on banking operations and efficient delivery and also investigate the applications of information and communication technology on improvement of workers performance.

The study adopted descriptive survey research design using questionnaire as the prime instrument. A total number of thirty (36) employee selected through census sampling techniques were used for the research study. The data collected were analysed using multiple regression analysis which reveal R2 (0.622) overall regression model is fit.

Findings indicates that there is a significant of 0.05 impact of information and technology on operation and efficient delivery. Also the results showed that there is a significant impact of information and communication technology on improvement of workers performance. It was concluded that the adoption of ICT in industry has helped tremendously to improve the productivity of bank workers, leading to efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

Among other recommendations is that management of banks should procure quality ICT gadgets that will enhance efficiency and customers’ retention.
