Abstract
This major area of interest in this study is the assessment of University students’ interest in French Language Education study. The study adopted survey research design. The population for the study comprised of two hundred students’ studying French Language in Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. The instrument used for the study is a questionnaire titled “Students’ Attitude to French Language Questionnaire”. Data generated from the study were analysed using descriptive statistics. The findings showed that students were interested in studying French Languages as a cause in Olabisi Onabanjo University. The study showed that institution, parents and friends are factors that influence the students learning French Language. Also, the study revealed that students’ have positive attitude towards the learning of French Language. The study therefore recommends that learning French language should be made compulsory in all secondary schools in the country in order to increase the number of students enrolling for French language in tertiary institution.
