Abstract
This study investigates the impact of skills acquisition on entrepreneurship development. It highlights the impact of entrepreneurship development on the growth of Nigerian Economy, and the impact of entrepreneurship skills on willingness to start a small business. The study was anchored on Sociological theories of Entrepreneurship and Modern theory of entrepreneurship Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. Population was drawn from Skye Bank in Ijebu-North Local Government Area. Random sampling techniques was used to select sixty (60) staffs of Skye Bank that constituted the sample for the study. A validated questionnaire was used to gather information from the participants. Data generated was analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Findings from the study revealed that there was statistically significant impact of skills acquisition on entrepreneurship development; there was statistically significant impact of entrepreneurship development on the growth of Nigerian Economy. It also showed that entrepreneurship skills will enhance the willingness to start a small business. Therefore, the study have concludes that entrepreneurship skill acquisition is a vital tool for entrepreneurship development. it recommends that Government at all levels should establish massive vocational training centres with little or no cost of training for all and sundry in order to improve the entrepreneurship skills of its citizen.
