Alstonia boonei De wild plant is one of the deciduous medicinal plant which grown abundantly in Tropical of West Africa, Ghana, Ethopia and in other countries in the world. This plant serve as major spice crop in Ghana and other tropical countries.

It is observed as sacred tree and worshipped in some countries. Alstonia boonei have been traditionally proved for its antimicrobial, antipyretic activites, antidiabetic, aphrodisiac while diagnonized and the plant parts contain bioactive compound such as ursolic acid, lupeol, loganin, boonein, echitamidine, nα-farmylechitamidine and β-amyrin among which the alkaloid and triterpenoid from a major part.

This review report show the ethnomedicinal uses and pharmacological importance of Alstonia boonei and as well as investigating the main research undertaken on the plant in order to acquire a relevant information for future purpose and for commercial exploitation.
