Abstract

This study investigates computer anxieties and academic stress on academic procrastination of undergraduate in Ogun State. The focus of the study was to examine the effects of computer anxieties on academic procrastination of undergraduates and to determine the effects of academic stress on academic procrastination of undergraduates in Ogun State. Random sampling techniques was used to select four hundred and fifty undergraduate students that participated in the study. The instruments used were Academic Stress Inventory; Procrastination Assessment Scale-Student (PASS) and Computer Anxiety Ratio Scale (CARS). Data generated were analysed using descriptive statistics, multiple regression (Analysis of Variance) was used to test the hypotheses stated in the study. Findings from the study showed that there was significant effect of computer anxieties on academic procrastination among undergraduates in Ogun State; there was significant effect of academic stress on academic procrastination among undergraduates in Ogun State. Also there is significant composite effect of computer anxieties and academic stress on academic procrastination among undergraduates in Ogun State. Among other recommends is that undergraduate students should enhance their skills in operating computer and become more familiar with it so any course assignments can be done more optimally.
