Managers have come to terms with the pertinence and essentiality of the strategic and pregnable tool of corporate governance in the attainment of firm perfromance. This study aims at filling the gap as a means of educating organisation board members and top management who are capable of reversing the current low firm performance to an improved one. This study investigate the impact of corporate governance on firm performance. 

            Data used in the study were curled from the financial statement of the selected bank for the period of 2009-2018 using Return on Asset, Return on Equity and Net Profit Margin as indicator or performance and Board Composition, Board Numbers of Meetings and Corporate Social Responsibilities as indicator of Corporate Governance. The data were analysed using regression analysis to establish the impact of independent variable on dependent variable. 

            Findings from the study revealed that board composition have no impact on firm performance. Also, numbers of meeting have no significant impact on firm performance. Results showed that corporate social responsibility have no significant impact on firm performance 

            It was concluded that corporate governance have no significant impact on firm performance. Board members and managers should determine which dimensions of corporate governance policies are appropriate for their performance and corresponding excellence.
