Abstract
Job involvement is one of the most successful human resource practice used for enhancing employee efficiency and performance. This study tried to investigate the relationship of job involvement and employee performance with focus on teaching staff of Olabisi Onabanjo University. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. Accidental sampling techniques was used to select one hundred (100) teaching staff that participated in the study. The instrument that was used to generate information from the respondents were Job Involvement Scale and Job Performance Scale. Data generated were analysed using inferential statistics of Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Independent Sample T-test Analysis with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Findings from this study revealed that there was a significant correlation between job involvement and employee performance. Results showed that female workers are more involved in their job than male workers. It was recommended that male workers should be encourage to be more involved in their job in order to reduce the lapses in job involvement due to gender.
