Abstract

The study examines strategic management and performance in tertiary institution using Olabisi Onabanjo University as the case study. It further probed the impact of strategic management on the performance. Primary and secondary data were used for the study. The study made use of questionnaire to elicit information from employees of Olabisi Onabanjo University. Data collected were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The hypotheses were tested using the using the Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient to establish the significance of relationship between the various variables used in measuring performance. The results of the hypotheses revealed that there is a statistically significant relationship between strategic management and performance. It also showed that there is a statistical significant relationship between strategic management and structural development in Olabisi Onabanjo University. It was concluded that strategic management enhance the performance of tertiary institution. Among other recommendations is that management should build an organization capable and willing of carrying out strategy and plan.
