Abstract
This study investigates the perceptions of undergraduates and lecturers on the impact of information and communication technology in learning economic in Nigerian higher institutions. The study adopted survey research design. The population for the study comprised of two hundred students’ and fifty lecturers learning and teaching Economics. Two instruments titled “Students’ Attitude to ICT Usage in Economics Questionnaire” and “Lecturers’ Attitude to ICT Usage in Economics Questionnaire” were used for this study. Data generated from the study were analysed using descriptive statistics. The findings showed that the level of awareness of Information and Communication Technology in among Undergraduate Students of Economics is very high; the students have a strong and positive perception regarding the use of ICT in learning Economics. Also there is no significant difference in the gender of undergraduate students’ awareness and perception of the impact of Information and communication technology in learning Economics. It was concluded that lectures have positive perception regarding the impact of ICT in learning and teaching Economics. Among other recommendations is seminars should be organized for Lecturers, Teachers and students, in order to be updated on the importance and usefulness of telecommunication and technology in the learning of Economics.
