Abstract
This study evaluated negative traits in Nigeria home video with focus on the movie King of Boys by Kemi Adetiba. It specifically analysed the negative trait of selected roles from the home video, determined how negative traits are promoted through, the language, costume and make-up, and the actions of selected characters from the film and evaluated how negative traits of the selected home video has impacted youth using graphical (contents) examples.
The study adopted qualitative analysis to analysed each of the selected screenshot or snapshot based on the language used, costume of the cast, make-up and actions.
It was revealed that most of the character such as language usage, costume, make up and actions of the characters in the movie portrays what is happening in the society today. Though, some of the scene in the movie was trying to bring originality through costume and make-up but it can have negative effect on the society if the producer refuse to let the audience understand that it is immoral.
Based on the findings, the study recommended that film producers should ensure that Nigerian movies portrays the cultural heritage and numerous potentials of Nigeria.
