Abstract

            This study investigated the attainment of Junior Secondary School students on some concepts on Peace Education. The research adopted a descriptive research design. The total population for the study comprised all Junior Secondary School students in Ijebu-north Local Government Area of Ogun State. Random sampling techniques was employed to select 200 students from selected schools. A questionnaire designed along with the research objective was administered to the students and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics.

            The findings of the study shows that there is a significant relationship between peace education and the perception of JSS students; there is a significant relationship between methods of teaching peace education and the attitude of JSS students. Also there is significant relationship between teachers' attitude and peace education concept.

            Among other recommendations is that School administrators and teachers should be trained professionally for effective implementation of this course at the classroom level through constant and consistent staff training, retraining and development.
