Abstract

This study specifically investigates students perception of Integrated Science Teaching in Ijebu-north local government area of Ogun State. The study highlighted general perception of students on teaching of Basic Science and Technology, identify the types of activities carried out during Basic Science and technology lesson and ascertain the extent of availability of training materials, equipment and tools in teaching of Basic Science and technology. The study adopt descriptive survey research design using questionnaire as the prime instrument.  The sample size for the study comprised of one hundred and twenty (120) Basic Science and Technology students drawn from six (6) secondary schools in Ijebu-north local government area. Data generated were analysed using simple percentage, mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study showed the general perception of students in the teaching of Basic Science and Technology is positive. It was revealed that students recorded what was observed, made deductions from data recorded. They also sometimes did discuss some results with colleagues in class. There is availability of training materials, equipment and tools for the teaching of Basic Science and Technology. Among other recommendations is that teachers should improve on the types of activities carried out in the teaching of Basic Science and Technology in order to make the subject more interesting to students.
