This research assessed the effect trade globalization on the reduction of poverty in Nigeria from 1997 to 2017. This adopts the econometric techniques of the Non-Monotonic modeling and the Analysis of variance (ANOVA) modeling. Secondary data was used for the estimation and was source from Central Bank Statistical Bulletin of 2017 volume. Results indicates international trade is playing a major role in economic growth of Nigeria but then, of all the variables applied as proxies to international trade, only Exchange rate (EXCHR) remains positive and significant while others remain insignificant. This indicates a major problem in the economy of the nation examined. It was concluded that not all the econometric test applied in this study show a statistically significant relationship between the dependent and independent variables from the model in both the long and short runs thus, foreign direct investment, exchange rate and total foreign trade has significant implications on the level of GDP in Nigeria. It therefore recommend that there should be an allowance for policies that allow access to a wider base of technological knowledge, it makes technological diffusion easier, it motivates research and avoids redundancies in research
